Clinton blamed Bush for not continuing his (Clinton's) environmental programs. The science is tenable at best, and pure politiking at worst, that links human activity with stronger hurricanes. There may indeed be a link, but we can't explain how it works. If we don't understand the mechanics behind it, it remains only a theory and a coincidence. It's like the Lisa Simpson Analogy: I have a pen that repels tigers. I don't know how it works but there are no tigers around, therefore it repels tigers. By the same token, we have high levels of carbon dioxide and we have warmer ocean surface temperatures and more hurricanes. But the temperature rise has been greatest in the Pacific, while Atlantic hurricanes have been most impacted. Where's the mechanism? Once we understand it, we can say for certain.
A businessman relative once tried to diagnose a leak in my car's power steering reservoir by sticking his little finger into the dip. As he stared at it, I asked him which knuckle meant "full" and which "low." Mechanics fix cars. Environmental scientists decipher atmospheric phenomena. Lawyers litigate. Presidents make decisions
So we have Clinton, a lawyer and former President, declaring a scientific connection between atmospheric phenomena and the guy who beat his chosen successor. I'd say the connection is less than tenable at best, out and out political at worst.

Both Clinton & Gore basically stated that based on Bush's "lack of concern" for the environment and his refusal to pass certain bills that would "supposedly" help prevent pollution, he caused an environmental chain reaction that eventually developed into stronger hurricanes.
This is obviously ridiculous. Considering that some people consider "Global Warming" to be a scientific theory and has not been 100% proven, who is to say that based on only 6 years of Bush's Presidency & his decision-making that all of a sudden the results of global warming has suddenly appeared. Theoretically, global warming has developed over hundreds of years due to the irresponsibility and lack of understanding from the human-race. Also, most hurricane experts believe that the development of the numerous tragic hurricanes occurs every century or so... so it is just a major coincidence that Bush happens to be in Office at this time.

I don't know about the article, but there was a statement made by clinton regarding the hurricanes, he blamed bush's environmental policies for the extreme storms and bad weather we've been having for the last 3 years.... funny thing was, they were originally set in place by clinton, and bush adopted them.... so really, it's just another ridiculous blame tactic to try and make bush look like an ***.

Gee, Clinton said that? I was starting to like him. I do know that some idiots out there say Bush caused it because of global warming. (You know he's responsible for all the terrible things that happen, don't you?;) There was traffic this morning and I know Bush was behind it! I hope Clinton didn't say that. (At least Bill; it wouldn't surprise me in the least if Hillary said it.)

*LOL* Didn't you know if it's something bad Bush is responsible for it. Just ask Nancy Pelosi. She doesn't know what he had to do with it but it's all his fault. And she'll tell you it must be true because Bill Clinton said it.
