What can I do about a large dead spot in my lawn? It's getting water but very brown. Rest of the lawn is ok

Lime the "H" out of it. Till it, and reseed.

It's probably got a fungus. Take a picture and go to your local Home Deport of favorite nursery, they'll hook you up with the stuff you need.
