After almost 30 years my first serious high school sweetheart(my parents broke us up) and I have hooked up. We met 2 other times over the last 27 years and were committed to others. Now we aren't and it's like we never stopped the first relationship. We're enjoying the time but both wondering why after all this time?

perhaps it just was not the right time... and perhaps you both had some maturing and learning to do in life to bring you both back to to each other at the correct time and with open hearts and arms and that is the whole meaning of "fate" destiny... enjoy ! and best wishes to you both!

Timing is everything. It sounds trite but you are the people you are because of people, events in the past. Those events are what would ultimately put you two back together. I know it sounds silly, but this happened to me. I found the person I love, by accident, but realize that we would have never met unless the circumstances were as they needed to be. I felt trapped in a loveless marriage but had not seen any examples of great guys. He had been in bad relationships and was convinced that he would never find the woman he sought. Then, we found each other. I BELIEVE that if we both had not been through what we have, we would not appreciate the other as much as we do and love each other like I never dreamed possible.
Whatever you believe, there is a single word/phrase that answers your question, be it karma, fate, destiny or God's plans.
Just enjoy the time you have together now. I wish you two all the luck on the world.

Well, the answer is God...not fate. It's whatever is in His will....the big man upstairs. And you will not know why it took so long, probably until you hit those gates of heaven. But there is absolutely a reason for it. You may even find it later on...something will hit you and you'll see why. Just enjoy it! Have fun and love eachother. You deserve it!

What makes you think there's a 'why' involved? Just accept that you finally found each other at a good time in your lives to have a relationship. 'Fate' is an attempt to explain things that seem difficult to understand. There is no actual 'fate', nothing has been pre-determined, each day is a brand new one and it's only our decisions and random circumstance that determine what happens to us.

well.. we need to know how to love, be loved, hurt, and be hurt first before we can finally realiz on how to chose the right person for us.. it is DESTINY who help us look for our SOULMATES.. and by the time we find them we would be very happy..and that a thanks to FATE.. ^_^
