Neocons do not have a corner on patriotism. I don't know why anyone would suggest that they do. And I don't think they ignore the Constitution. I think everyone, especially law enforcement does.

Most of the really weird flag flying and outspoken conservatism bandied about in here and in other forums is done by really young, inexperienced and generally self abosrbed young people.

In another 20 years, when the mortgage payments are due, the kid who needs orthodontia ends up getting her teeth knocked out in a soccer game, the dog dumps on the new carpet that you took out a loan to get, all those neo cons will end up being moderate and too tired to wave the dishtowel.

I suggest that it is all the workings of really naive, inexperienced kids who haven't lived long enough to grow up and find out that any extremist position is extremist, no matter which side of the aisle you are rooting for.

Politics is a game. It is not unlike an NBA finals.

You got the Mavericks and you got the Heat. If you like the Mavericks, you are gonna be in the bleachers screaming that the Heat sucks. If you are a Heat fan, you are going to be in the bleachers screaming that the Mavericks suck.

The truth is that you are in the bleachers. What's going on in the mind of the players on the court is a whole lot different than the screaming going on in the bleachers. The fans just keep the players pumped.

The players on the court, whether it is in Congress, the Lobby, state legislatures, state and local governments, county commissions, city councils or whatever, are just listening to the cheering. They cannot distinguish the voices individually, just the screaming. No matter who you are screaming for, they hear it all as one big noise from fans who are stoked.

They don't hear the Constitution, they don't hear the conversation about flag flying. They just hear a big unilateral cheer.

because it is an political ploy to get a rise out of the emotional americans...it is much easier to do address over the top shenanigans than to voice your position on the constitution...conservatives are doing an excellent job at pulling the patriotic heartstrings of america...as long as they keep talking about and criminalizing flag burning, gay marriage, and other "hot topics" they will continue to pit americanism and patriotism against the democrats...democrats need to reassure christians and patriotics that they have a plan that will not threaten their beliefs!

Because all of their brightness is wasted on selfishness. Poor souls are lost in a world that is self-contained. There thought processes and actions do not reflect on anyone else or any other history, that they understand. Their ultimate goal is to fence everyone out. They believe at the bottom of there heart that no one else really understands their blight. In this they are sadly mistaken, and it damages all of us.

Why do liberals and democrats twist the constitution to fit their needs, gripe about their right to burn the flag or wipe their *ss with it, gripe about taking God out of school and public places then wonder why the world has become such a pile of SH*T

neo-cons, or neo-conservatives, the 'new conservatives', aren't really new, aren't really conservative, just greedy and power-hungry, and out for every penny they can squeeze out of anyone that doesn't run fast enough.

The constitution is their highest duty, but they never bothered to, um, actually like, stop and read it, hence all the confusion...

Why to progressive liberals want to redefine everything including what the Constitution says? Why do they want to protect criminals and kill unborn children but save whales and leave lawful citizens unprotected?

Because we let them. We have to quit blaming the government and everyone else and realize we have allowed our country to go in this direction. Only we, the people, can fix it now.
