She's probably Manic Depressive. If she is, its not her fault that she's acting in these ways. Obviously her moods change like the wind, and that is an obvious symptom of the dissorder. Talk to her about it. Let her know that you've been noticing the mood changes. For all you know, she could just get REALLY bad PMS. Be a friend, find out what is going on and help her make it better.

you're not any further insane, and also you're not any further wierd. It appears like you've had some complicated cases, and that i'm guessing that you're studying the books about abuse, drugs, rape and stuff to develop into more effective positive suggested and that ought to help you cope including your own own aftermath. relaxing psychological interest isn't some thing to be scoffed at. on the different hand, if the human beings who were calling you wierd did not comprehend the decrease back-tale, they could no longer get why you have an interest in that variety of studying cloth.

Look around when she acts mad. Are there other people around? Does she feel she has to have some kind of social standing and look good to the crowd? When the ones she is trying to impress are gone does she treat you better?
perhaps she is Bi-polar. This kind of person swings from one extreme emotion to the next happy one minute angry the next. You have to look over your shoulder if she is that type. It could cause problems

more than likley, she has issues going on in her life that have nothing to do with you - but sometimes you become the brunt of her pain. You may want to ask her if everything is okay, and let her know you are a friend and if she needs to talk - you are there for her.
The flipside is possibly it is hormones. Depending on your ages, she could just be having mood swings.

ask her what the problem is and if she doesn't tell you give her some time by herself it sounds like she might be mad about something and she's just acting childish about it. but if the problem keeps happening ditch her it might be a hard decision you have to work though but why waste time on childish behavior

Ask her bluntly, tell her you don't like being treated that way, some people do that with out even thinking, do you enjoy her company?
You said it is your new friend, maybe she has problems that you are not aware of or maybe she is using you.
I would demand answers from her.

It could be a number of different things. If you really want to be friends with her then you'll have to find a way to deal with it, otherwise it's not worth being friends

Maybe she's bipolar. Or maybe when she sounds mad, she's just having a bad moment and later on, she's over it.
