Definitely not.. usually a buck's temperament is a result of how he was raised as a kid, but sometimes it's genetic. If anything, petting a buck would make him calmer, but it's really hard to alter a buck's personality if he's fully grown and skittish or aggressive. You can always make a buck worse, but fixing a bad temperament is difficult and sometimes dangerous. If a goat - either male or female - is tame, then it likes to be petted. Some favorite spots are on the head behind the horns (or in the horn area), on the shoulders, and at the base of the neck.

No, but if you try head butting it, that can make it mean. We used to raise goats and I had a pet billy goat. My kids would head butt it and that goat would attack me every time I went out in the yard.

nope . i raise goats. we have one male that is mean but only when there are "ready" females around. petting never makes any animal mean. change of diet, weather, hormones can make him act mean.

If your dealing with a tame one, they usually like it if you rub them between their horns
