Most south americans are good at soccer because:
-it is their main sport, here theres no single sport that the entire nation likes and watches, in south america, its soccer (futbol, rather)
-kids grow up playing it, its what they do in their spare time. even nowadays most kids in south america don't have video games, so they all play in the streets and in the school courtyards and stuff
sorry, that came out sounding very stereotypical, but it wasn't intentional.

because while they enjoy playstation and xbox...very few can afford it and unlike americans...they actually PLAY the games..instead of tapping their thumbs..
Soccer is what they have...they do it from the age of 3-4 till 34 and even up till 54...they play regardless of age...i think I played against a guy who was in his 60s..and he was just as good as anyone out there..
