What's your favorite thing to do in Pensacola, FL?

I'm going on vacation there in August and wondered what the locals like to do.

I am a Pensacola local. I'm not really sure your age and what you plan to do on your vacation so I'll just give you a run down. Of course there is the beach. They are still doing some repairs, but the main beach is open and nice. Things to do at the beach include getting some sun, jet skiing, para sailing, and other water-crafts to enjoy*. There are also some little cars that you can rent to drive around the beach or you could ride the beach trolley. The USS Oriskany* was recently sunk as an artificial reef... I'm not sure of the activities allowed there, but have heard talk of snorkeling and deep sea fishing. There are so many places to eat that I could not begin to tell you the BEST of the BEST, but one place that is fun to go eat is McGuire's*. It is in Pensacola (not on the beach) and is a good place to eat. There are dollar bills all over the walls. The National Museum of Naval Aviation* is a popular place for locals and vacationers to go. It is a shame you aren't coming in July as the BLUE ANGELS will be performing their show over Pensacola Beach. We are home to the BLUE ANGELS. Pensacola has 4 forts and there are daily tours available. Historic Pensacola Village* is yet another place to tour. Also in town is an amusement/water park - Sam's Fun City*. There are several go-cart tracks, movie theaters*, bowling alleys, shopping centers, and two malls - cordova* and university*. If those activities don't keep you busy there is more to do within driving distance just East and West of Pensacola. The Alabama coast has a lot of activities available as does Destin, FL. Destin and Foley both have Outlet Centers for more shopping. There are deep sea charters GALORE in Destin. They both have great eating places. If you have any questions feel free to email or im me. I went to college in Pensacola. The beaches are lovely but they might still be a little messed up from the Hurricanes. They have a zoo near there and go carts and stuff like that and they have two shopping malls which are ok. The best thing to do is go to the beach.

Me and my Fiance were there a few weeks back and their were ppl at the Pensacola bch it seems they are still trying to fix things there but the beachs look nice and plus there is a nice seafood resteraunt called Flounders across from the bch, their food is awsome.
