Water Pond came with House--How do i turn it on?

This is a strange question sicne you have no idea what it looks like or the products involved but i am hoping that osmeone can give me some ideas for what i should look for so that i can best attack this probvlem and get it turned on. Here is what i know:

It is a small, man-made water pond with two pipes (about 1 inch in diameter) going down into the lowest parts of this pond (in the water). From what i gather there is also another (concealed) pipe that creates a waterfall effect down the rockface (of the pond) on one-side of this pond (the waterfall is about 3-4 ft above the water's surface).

I also notice there is this black plastic box near the pond and inside i see two pipes ... one smaller pipe with many little holes and another on the ground (of this box) open...My guess is this box fills with water and maybe this is how the water is recycled from the pond's surface and pumped up again to the fall?

Is there some electric cord i should be looking for to turn this on?

yes.....sometimes it may be direct wired into breaker box in house but should most likely be extention cord from the pump..........maybe there is no pump.......???

Depending on the climate you live in, the pump may or may not be hard-wired to the house.

If you just purchased this house, I would ask your realtor to contact the seller of the home for directions.
