I found this on wikipedia:
An onscreen hotspot, in computing, provides a special area for hyperlinking or for other GUI-based activity (such as re-direction, pop-up display (of advertising or of non-advertising), macro execution, etc).

So if thats the case, the answer is A.

All the above answers are the common definition of hotspots. That is areas in public places that provide Wi-Fi access.

Hotspots are also places on webpages that might be hidden links to other places. They are created by placing a mask over an image for example and allowing you to click on a specific part of the image to get more information.

For users of portable computers equipped for wireless, a hot spot (or hotspot) is a wireless LAN (local area network) node that provides Internet connection and virtual private network (VPN) access from a given location. For example, a business traveller with a laptop equipped for Wi-Fi can look up a local hot spot, contact it, and get connected through its network to reach the Internet and their own company remotely with a secure connection. Increasingly, public places, such as airports, hotels, and coffee shops are providing free wireless access for customers.
The Wi-Fi Alliance provides a list of hot spots through its Wi-Fi Zone program. A number of companies such as Sprint and Cometa plan to provide a nationwide network of hot spots.

Hotspots are locations with public wireless access points where you can connect your mobile computers (such as a laptop or a PDA) to internet, using standard wlan (wi-fi) technology. Most new laptops come with adaptors built in, and on some hotspot locations it is even possible to borrow a PCMCIA adaptor.
