So that they can brag about it to the voters back home around election time. And rarely, but occasionally, to take a courageous stand on an important issue. Very rarely.

Does it hurt for them to go on record as to how they believe about a certain issue of the day? I don't mind countless resolutions that do nothing - I am more concerned about all the other laws and spending programs that throw away all of our tax money. I wish that in each session of Congress that they could only pass laws in even years - (election years) and in odd years that they would have to scour the books for old, outdated or outright wrong legislation and have to repeal it. Or, before they could pass any new legislation, they would have to repeal or cancel some existing legislation, or at least review it.
I like the fact that they voted to support the war on terror, as it is a vital key to our overall safety and security. This vote forced a lot of big talkers to come down on one side or the other.

Because just like the Nazi party in the 1930's the republicans have to make any opposing view look like treason/unpatriotic so they can get more control over the U.S. Don't believe me read the history books it is really all there in black and white.

It tells me I can vote for my incumbent Democrat representative in the fall with a clear conscience. He voted to approve the resolution. But them he always was a pretty conservative Democrat.

Watching Communist News Network (CNN) is a mistake in itself but to your question-its good to know where your congress stands on certain issues and if you don't agree with them vote them out .

First of all, I wouldn't go with CNN news. They are so influenced by the Far-Left, it's not even funny.
Second of all, Congress doesn't do anything, so I wouldn't worry about them. Just let it go.
