I hate MTV. How can they even call themselves Music Television when they almost never show videos? I haven't watched MTV since I was l2. I even hate The Real World. MTV should change their name to CTV...for Crappy Television.

I remember when MTV stood for music videos. Now, it's all these stupid reality shows, and are they ever crappy! We should all start a campaign...bring back the V in MTV!

I agree.
MTV stands for Music TV, and they got all this crap on there that has absolutely nothing to do with music. Real World, Road Rules, My Sweet Sixteen. I haven't watched this channel since Beavis and Butthead days, nor do I plan too!

i think that most of thier shows are stupid but i like when they just play music videos in the morning and thier countdown shows. but seriously shouldn't that be what is on mtv i mean what does dating somebodies mom have to do with music?! maybe somebody should tell them so they can make the channel better

I definetely agree. Some of their shows are ok, but they should have a seperate channel for all of their crappy shows and name it something else, maybe just a tv station dedicated to reality tv 24/7. They should get back to the good old days where they played good music, and not just rap/r&b/pop either.

I do and so too does VH1 and all the B...S... that is thrown in kids faces. I am not old fashioned ..just realistic. It is all mindless, redundant, high school crap designed not to help kids but to keep them and render them mindless in front of the idiot box instead of getting on with their lives. Putting a lot of money in the wrong peoples pockets...too!!

I do. They need to change the name to RTV (reality television). They play 20 videos in a 24 hour period, maybe. It was great when it first came out. ALL videos, hence the name, MUSIC TELEVISION!!!

Yes.
Unfortunately, it has declined over the years.
When it came out back in the late 1970's, it was so cool...and truly "MUSIC" television.
Somewhere in the late 1980's, they got so commercial.
I started calling it "Marketing" television.
Too bad...a nice idea that just kinda lost its way and died.

i hate MTV it's dumb. all the do is interview people, they should call it Crap TV instead of Music TV.
