He's too slow to play any skill positions and his feet are horrible - he would never hold up on offensive or defensive line. So unless he can kick or punt, no.

Funny you should ask. When my buddy and I were watching the Mavs Heat game last night, we thought the same thing.

If he were to switch today, he wouldn't have the knees for it, but the best scenario I have him at is DE. Could you imagine Shaq coming out of college and ending up on the same team as Reggie White or playing with Warren Sapp? I was giddy thinking about that.
Shaq's height, none the less, wing span alone would put him #1 in deflected passes every year. Even the tallest QB's, who are around 6'6" wouldn't be able to throw the ball over him.
Also, he would have been on a football diet/exercise program that would have probably put him around 320-350 lbs with a much better muscle to fat ratio.
We would probably be talking today about future Hall of Famer DE Shaquille O'Neal because there would not have been any LT's or RT's that could have stopped Shaq one-on-one.
Just for O'Neal. they would have changed the term sack to shaq. "How many shaqs did Shaquille have last year? Oh yeah, I think it was 27."

One last visual, could you imagine Doug Flutie being sacked by Shaq. Just frightening.

No, definitely not. His feet are too slow. No matter how big he may be, you have to have a quick step and ability to get off the ball. Also, his center of gravity is too high. There was a player drafted years ago that was around 7' and he didnt pan out. He only lasted a couple seasons. You might be a monster, but if the lineman across from you gets off the ball and into you before you react, you're not going anywhere.

HELL NO!!!!!! and Myrrhe30 Shaq said he quit after 1........I repeat 1 game because he got hit low. Imagine that a 6ft tall kid getting hit low......plus it takes more heart to be a football player. You have to like hard impacts and being thrown to the ground. I dont think Shaquille is that man at all. And there are plenty of tall men over 6'5 in the NFL.

Defensive End. Just like Ed "Too Tall" Jones of the Dallas Cowboys.

He could be the worlds largest waterboy. That covers his talent. Honestly, No!! I do not think he has the toughness required to play with kids his size. To best describe Shaq - Physical giant, mental midget.

Right now? No, because his legs are pretty much shot. In his prime, though, he'd have made a hell of a defensive end or defensive tackle. He was too slow back in his prime to be a tight end, though, but he would have made a huge target for quarterbacks to throw to, that's for sure.

I think he could about 10-15 years ago, but not now. Health issues, older, fatter, conditioning, Nope shaq couldn't play FB now.

Maybe quarterback, if he had accuracy. He's got the height, so he could throw above everyone's head. He wouldn't have to run much.

Possibly a position the offensive line, where he just has to stay in front of people.
