I was wondering if anyone had gotten pregnant after having a tubal liagiation and had a normal, healthy pregnany! What are the symptoms of being pregnant with your tubes tied are they any differnece then a pregnany before tubal liagiation! The thing is that i have had my tubes tied, well actually clipped for almost 7 years now and for the last couple of months i have been having similar symptoms has i had in my 2 pregnancies! I have been having constant heart burn, swollen and tender breast,am very moody and upset stomach quite often! The thing is i had myself convince i was indeed pregnant until yesterday i started what i believe to be my period! But this period and my last month's one haven't been like my other periods in the past, there have been less pain and they only last about 2 days compared to 5,so i don't know if i can still be prenant and have shorter periods or not! Can someone please give me some advice if you have been in a similar situation!@

I had my tubes tied over 7 yrs ago also. On my 30th birthday I had my period but but the strange thing was I ahd one 2 weeks prior to that, It was extremely abnormal so i went to the Dr. they did a pregnacy test and it came back negetive I told tehm there is no way i could be pregnat i had my tubes tied, she told me that doesnt matter it can happen!!! They actually thought thats what i had was a tubal I had all the signs that you have, what my ended up being was i had dysplatia on my cevix, beginning stages of cancer!! The one things the Dr did tell me was that normally a baby cannont survive in the folopian tubes, they would have to do a DNC if that was the case!! You should take a pregnacy test and see that it say and then go to the DR. The other thing I might add is that there is something out there I'm not sure what its called it happend to me when I was 18 but your body thinks your pregnat and you have all the signs but your really not!! Not sure what the name is, I was young all I know is that at that time I did have to have a DNC to take care of the problem!!
Hope everything goes well for you!!!

I had a tubal about 4 years ago. Two years ago I thought a was pregnant. (I didn't have much of a period.) so I spoke with my doctor. She said it was possible to be pregnant but the odds are great that it would be an ectopic pregnancy( where the embryo emplants in the felopian tube.) I was told that the symptoms are still the same as if you never were tied. I would suggest a home pregnancy test and then take it from there. If it is positive got to the doctor to make sure the baby is in the uterus, not in the tube. That's what my doctor told me to do.

Yes it is possible to become pregnant after having your tubes tied. Though, it usually occurs shortly after the surgery. It seems highly unlikely that it would occur 7 years after the surgery, but weird stuff happens. The symptoms of pregnancy would be the same since the Fallopian tubes, which are involved in a tubal ligation, have nothing to do with the releasing of hormones. If you are truly worried about it take an at home pregnancy test or go to the doctors for a blood test.

First thing you should do is take a pregnancy test.

While it's not terribly common, you can become pregnant after having a tubal ligation. If you're worried about it, ask your doctor to perform an ultrasound to insure that everything has stayed 'clipped'. If it turns out you're not pregnant, schedule an appointment to find out what's causing the abnormal cycles. You don't give your age, but it's possible you could be perimenopausal.

Infertility can be caused by a huge number of factors: hormone imbalance, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Endometriosis, Anovulatory Cycles, physical blockage, inadequate hormone production, short luteal phase, lack of lutenizing hormone, high levels or prolactin, and many others. Poor nutrition often plays a major role, as does exposure to toxins. Age plays less of a role before menopause than was originally thought. While there are many wonderful naturally minded fertility specialists out there, in many cases it is not possible for them to test for and address any of these possible underlying issues.

I don't think that you can get pregnant with your tubes tied because it stops you from getting pregnant.
