wait and see what happens with the consoles when they come out. Thats alot of cash to throw down for a game system, then add a game and an extra contoller, so then your lookin at around 650-700.00

While I would encourage you to save your money for something far more important and more grownup, the 360 is not a bad toy. We enjoy our 360 a great deal. You can get Gamefly to rent games.

However, since you are going to be attend a university, you need to consider that you may not have time for games or it may not be safe to keep your 360 in a college dorm. Like at something portable that you can keep in your backpack or something. The DS Lite is wonderful little machine that I can with me everywhere. The PSP is nice too, but it's catalog is lacking at the moment.

The PS3 will probably be a huge waste of money. I've heard some bits about it from my friend who went to E3 and it's sounds like a piece of crap that's been overhyped by it's maker who happens to have a rep for overselling products.

totally.
The Xbox 360 premium package comes with some special hard drive that allows you to play original xBox games on the 360. But, sometimes, some games do not have support, which will cause distortion. Usually, the problem is the screen type. Also, you can burn and rip music with audio CD's. Also, there is an arcade part to it where you can play a bunch of cool arcade games. Get the 360!!!

I personally think that you shouldn't get it. The graphics are really good, but the games for that system aren't really that good. I'm waiting for the Nintendo Wii. The controllers look like a lot of fun. I can just imagine how fun it would be to play a game on the Wii with a bunch of friends using that type of control.

Riight now you should probably wait a little longer. The price is supose to go down soon. Not only that but you only that but you start University in Fall that is only 2-3 months away...you will mort likely be busy once school starts so be prepared

well you messed up the pricing: it is really roughly $425 without any games. so with the money you have and are making, go for it. But then it will get expensive when it comes to the games. Try to look for the cheap ones.
