Isn't it time for some more equality? The British newspaper The Sun boosts its circulation by featuring topless girls on page 3. I would like to see pics of sexy men too. What are your thoughts?

I was hoping for some socio-political comment......I don't actually read the Sun myself....I am just interested in equality and change. If we had pin ups of men in our "family newspapers" I think it might go some way to reducing the (sometimes unconscious) exploitation of women.

And hey - they could be very tasteful pictures!!

If you don't like the thought of mens bits...How about pictures of cute guys in blue jeans?!!!

Thats a great idea.... Cheers me up to see a pretty face...!

It'd be interesting to see if it made men feel increasing pressure to subscribe to a certain 'look' the way these female models do for women. Apparently that's already happening a bit (what with boy bands, male models etc) - sorry for boys that they have new insecurities but it might make em scrub up a bit...!

You can get womens mags that have men in them, and now thanks to a recent ruling in a court somewhere you can now see men standing to attention as it were, but I don't think that having a naked man in a newspaper would boost circulation. The Daily Mirror used to have models in it years ago, and it didn't hurt their circulation much when they got rid...maybe its time The Sun got rid of Page 3 instead?

Women just aren't that interested in looking at naked men, it comes down to biology.
Men get turned on in many ways and one of the main ways is visually that is why page3 & porn works for them, women are more into the whole scene, feelings and touch.
Put that fact together with the look of mens bits & you can understand why it just doesn't work for most women (there are always exceptions).

Personally I'd rather see a nice butt in a pair of jeans, crisp white t-shirt and leather jacket kind of picture

Page 3 boys would only be appealing to other men -gay men, that is.
Women are not visually aroused,we're just not made that way.
This is a medically researched fact.
The inequality you see and describe as sexual expliotation is also a fact - an inevitable consequence of the differences between men and women.

Thats a great idea. I wouldn't want them naked or anything. Just topless and in pants, or jeans, or a fireman's outfit.... haha.
Boy would that give men a shock when they turn to page 3 to get a good look at some girl's tartlets!

They did. They had page 5 guys or something.
(not my cup of tea).
But as they were normal Chippendale types, women soon lost interest.
Women want to see sexy pics of famous, wealthy celebrities. (Most of whom won't do it. Plus the price of the photos is quite high)
And so the papers stopped doing it.
Papers only do these things if it boosts sales.
Which it didn't.

The Sun used to have 'page seven fellas' but I don't think it caught on. Women aren't so bothered about looking at naked men as men are to looking at naked women!

Urk!
Do you really, seriously want to give any useful suggestions for increasing the circulation of that pathetic snot-rag??

what you are talking about is a major difference in gender. Men look at naked women to get their rocks off. Women look at naked men to laugh at them. Do I want to look at naked men over my cereal, no! Do I pity men for getting excited over a picture of a naked women, yes!
