should games where you:murder people for fun and money, buy prostitutes, and kill cops as missions,(like grand theft auto) be brought off the market?

For what reason? For the large majority of people who play video games playing is a way to detach from reality. In a video game you can do things that you wouldn't do in real life. People who act out these games already have something wrong with them, blaming a video game for thier murderous rampage is a cop out. This is a discussion that's been going on for as long as violent video games have been out, there are even lawyers who have tried to file lawsuits against the companies that made them (unsuccesfully). To correct your question though, I don't know of any missions in any of the GTA games where the objective is killing police, sure, you can kill them if they get in the way but you're never 'told' to do so. Video games are not to blame for violent people, should we ban all violent movies too?

**** U I'm 13 and am always getting this video game **** shoved down my throat every one always acts like were little impressionable inanimate objects that want to grow up to be what we see on TV I read the Autobiographies of both Malcolm X and Harry Houdini but I'm not gonna try and make all the white people disappear...After GTA I played halo2 but I'm not planning to mow down Christian heretics with an SMG.We can think for ourselves too just like the big all knowing adults. You cant even buy mature games if your under 17 when my parents got the games for me they realized that I a teenager in the Suburbs wasn't going to shoot up his middle school because of common sense and basic standards of realism that anyone who was old enough to acquire a gun would have. So yet again **** YOU

Well, if you take that off the market, does that mean violent movies, suggestive music and novels about murder are next?

It's a slippery slope and it's hard to know where to draw the line.

I agree that kids shouldn't be allowed to play this game, but there are adults who should get the choice whether or not they play this, or any other game.

If you don't like it, don't play it (which is what I'm doing).

Yes, I think they should be taken off the market. My feeling is that there should be something done to the companies who produce these types of games (and movies, for that matter), but since we live in America and have freedom of speech, then that will never happen. But with the way society is today in that many parents are not aware of what their children are doing and/or just don't care, then perhaps something should change so that our younger generation is not brought up with these "values."

No, well those games are good for taking out your aggression inside the game instead of the real world. Besides people who is of the age to play those games knows that its just a game and not to do it in real life.

No because the games they are the very things that keep us from doing stuff like killing because if you would all just rember the saying "Curiosity Killed the Cat" right now with these games kids get the saisfaction with killing fake people but without these fake people how would that need to kill be satisfied? Huh? REAL murder. REAL!!!!!!!

I think in the hands of most people they are harmless, but some people are influenced by these games. I hate to say yes they should be banned, but if one person dies because of them, they should be.

There are many other ideas that can be put into games, maybe the manufacturers can put their efforts into less or non-violent games.

well not really. thats why they are marked mature...because children will want get the wrong idea if you get what i mean. but like if ur mature and can handle wanting to kill someone because of a FRICKIN GAME......then you can play. i have played it before and i have never wanted to kill someone in real life. IF UR SMART ENOUGH TO REALIZE...YOU WONT GET MONEY FOR KILLING SOMEONE IN REAL LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and that is what some people dont realize...but should it be banned. well in a way yea...but if it does occur that some dutduda to kill someone it might not be only because of the game.

and technically speaking...YOU ARE NOT MURDERING INNOCENT PEOPLE IF THEY ARE FRICKIN COMPUTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
