They should be. I feel confident that UBL will be captured or dead, before Nov.

I was not a big Clinton fan, but I never hated him or wished ill on his family, like the Libs do our President. The left wing is just too far out there to win back the popular vote, IMO.

All I hear from the left is complaints, no solutions, other than to get rid of the current administration. That's not good enough.

Bush and the GOP have to have more than a single kill in Iraq to turn the tide for the 06 and 08 elections. They have focused too much of their time and efforts pleasing special interests (like the gay marriage amendment) and not enough on healthcare and other things like the soaring cost of energy.

Killing the bad guys in Iraq is good but it wasn't Bush or the GOP out there doing the fighting either. Yes, they will get a little bounce but to do well in the next 2 elections, they will need to pay more than a little lip service to the mainstream issues.

I don't think they're worried. The poll numbers going up will be just temporary. No matter how many terrorist leaders you kill, like Al-Zarqawi, there will always be someone else eager to take his place. Also killing Al-Zarqawi won't eliminate suicide bombings, sectarian killings, kidnappings, etc... so the same news that came out when Bush's poll numbers were down in the low 30's will continue coming out. And it doesn't matter how strong the economy is, the fact is Iraq is at the forefront of Bush's poll numbers and therefore the perception of things in Iraq will always be what drags Bush down more.

I know I'll be losing sleep over a 5% increase.

Is a shoe bomber who blew himself up inside an important Shiite mosque during Friday prayers, killing at least 13 people and wounding 28, as violence persisted in the capital despite a massive security operation aimed at restoring order the good news that you were referring to?
