It comes from actually if you are dreaming that you are falling and you hit the ground you will not wake up. It is an old wives tale, based on old symbols of dream interpretation. Supposedly the shock of your dream body hitting the ground will cause your heart to stop. Personally I have dreamt that I died someone elses death twice in one night (a child was hit by a train) and I woke up screaming like a banshee. Obviously I am still here. By the way because of that is why I will not use a ouija board anymore and have a great hate for them.

I would have to say that this is an old wives tale, for I have died many times in my dreams and here I am typing this so I think that is proof enough!! lol.

No, that is completely untrue. I have died many times in my dreams and I'm not dead, last time I checked. It will definitely feel awful, and (it depends on how you die in your dreams) you will feel side affects. Such as, I had this dream where my head got chopped off by a guillotine and I woke up the next day sweating and my neck was sore for the rest of the day. So, you will feel like you just got resurrected, but you will definitely not die because you died in your dreams.

No. If you die in your dreams that generally means that you are going to live a long life. I think that your body experiences the rush of the dreams, and thats why you wake up breathing hard or cold sweats. i cant remember what book i read that in, but it does say that if you dream that you die then you are destined to live a long life

I dont think so. I've had a dream that I had fallen from a really tall building and all of a sudden I see myself on the floor with alot of people around me. I dint feel any pain but I knew I was dean in my dream. I obviously dint die, but I must say, I did wake up extremely tired from that dream!

Old wives tale. Dreams can only remind you of what happened in the past or inform you of some hidden/unconscious desire already present in you. They have no predictive power to fortell the future.

Yes we will all die eventually but not because of a dream but seriously in response to your question no I'm still alive and know of a few other people that have 'died' in their dreams and did not really die

No, if u die in ur dream u don't die for real. However, if u fall into the ground from a building and u hit the ground u really die.
A psychologist once told me that but I don't remember the explanation.
