The rate of remuneration will vary widely by location, and by type of institution. Rates can also depend on your degree (MA paid lower than MFA or ABD, ABD lower than PhD, etc.). Also, some colleges pay by credit, some by course. For a one-semester three-hour course, the remuneration could be as low as $1200, and as high as $5000.

You can expect to receive around 800 to 1500 for one class depending on whether you have a MA/MS or a PhD. Adjuncts really do not get paid well.

Hi. It depends on where in the country you are, and whether it's a community college or a small liberal arts college. There's a significant range. Still, it's great experience. Sadly, some depts may make you feel like a second-class citizen. But students are thankful to have an instructor who teaches comp because he wants to, not because he's waiting for a tenure-track lit position to open up. Good luck!

College professors teach 3 to 4 classes per term. If you get hired full-time, you normally teach within a single department. That's just the way professor positions are funded. If you are hired part-time, you can teach across departments. Part-time professors get paid much less than tenured and tenure-track professors.
