gods law vs natures law can. can you think of something really short to add into my essay as an example?

"God's law" and "nature's law" are not in opposition - many Christian philosophers - like Thomas Aquinas - have said they are the same thing.

As for a definition, this one is good: "natural law is the concept of a body of moral principles that is common to all humankind and, as generally posited, is recognizable by human reason alone. Natural law is therefore distinguished from -- and provides a standard for -- positive law, the formal legal enactments of a particular society."

And given that, we can see that the following words show some examples of natural law:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

In other words, here are four natural laws:
all humans are equal
all humans have a right to life
all humans have a right to freedom
all humans have a right to pursue happiness

It was the Gods who created Man in their own image (according to Cicero) and it was them that gave them a soul. At that point it was Nature that did the rest. Nature gave man laws, intelligence, the ability to reason, the ideas of justice etc
