Yes because you get to meet people in your network. I know a few people who have met friends and even their spouses online. I think myspace has become big enough where you can definitely find someone that you are compatible with...even just as friends.

I have recently joined myspace and i have found it to be very good for meeting people with the same interest as me. I am however only concerned with the music myspacers and the users in this particular genre are serious about their music, polite, friendly and i am glad i joined. I would not advise children to use myspace though

No I think Myspace is a meat market, full of pedofiles and stalkers who want to get your information, which is being given freely....You feel totally safe right? Posting your REAL picture, telling which city you live in and everything, what high school or college you go to...and yet never think there are people out there, just waiting to find out this stuff...
Myspace is awful and I will NEVER allow my children, or allow myself or anyone I love go there....Go to Yahoo 360 instead.....

I use MySpace but I use to to only add people that I already know or knew. There are a lot of fake people on there so you have to be careful and there is a lot of controversy about the site. You can also put your profile on private if you are a certain age or change your birthdate so only people you accept as a friend can view your full profile. You can also search for local people but just be careful who you talk to. You also can learn information about local and famous bands...not sure if the band personally runs it, to be honest it is so hard to know if the person is real such as they have certain famous peoples profiles on there...just be careful what you do and who you talk to and what information you put on there.

Probably not. Online friendships tend to stay online, and die quickly once you run out of small and lack any of the properties of a real human to human interaction.
Plus MySpace is kind of shifty these days..

Yes I do think so. I have found many new friends-some I have met in person too! Also, I have found old friends who I have lost touch with over the years. So I think it is a very good site to meet new and intresting people!

yes, because they're people from all around the country. Some poeple just talk to there local friends from around there block; which makes it boring after a while. Its more funner and interesting when u live in Cali and ur talking to someone in Minnesota, N.Y., or Florida.
