1)Serbia-Montenegro doesn't exist anymore since the Montenegrin independence referendum on May21st.. and the formal declaration on June the 3rd.

2)I think you are more concerned with the name of Montenegro rather than Serbia!!

3)Montenegro just means BLACK (*****) MOUNTAIN(monte) in ITALIAN (NOT Spanish as said by other answerers)

4) This is a direct translation of the name of the country in Serbian language which is CRNA GORA (black mountain)

5)The word ***** and Crna..for Black are not racist in their respective countries...only descriptive..And are used to describe a central physical feature of that country.... So the context is not at all racist.

Is it racist to call Belarus (White Russia) Sometimes countries have colours in their countries name for whatever reason....

6) However you are not the first person to notice this anomaly with the name Montenegro ..and how it sounds to English speakers..
There is a local (Montenegrin rap act) called the 'Monten1ggers. Which certainly is not PC!!!

It sounds racist in the US. But not really, in the context of the rest of the world--the Spanish-speaking countries, particularly.
