I get peeved when I hear them commenting on what they would have done in a particular situation had they been there - like any one of them every played on a World Cup winning team. But what I hate even more is all the stupid banners they put up that block the view of the field. There have been a couple of times that I've switched the channel and watched the game on the Spanish channel. I don't understant a word they are saying so it lets me just focus on enjoying the game.

I'm totally with you on this one. If I didn't want to hear names and stuff I'd put the game on mute. I really can't stand any of them. And I know he's a commentator, not an announcer but I'm also throwing Eric Wynalda into the mix and saying everything that comes out of his mouth is just about as annoying as nails on chalkboards. I've finally started muting him every time he talks. Can not stand that guy!!!

Pretty much anything Marcelo Balboa says. He is AWFUL. AWFUL. And that other dude hes with...man, wtf were they THINKING, hiring a baseball broadcaster to do soccer for the first time for the world cup...I like John Harkes as a guy, but hes not so great with the commentary...anyway, I have been trying to find a way to contact ABC and ESPN about their chosen commentators, and now I have one. Thank you very, very much. AND EVERYONE SIGN THE PETITION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They're totally biased. When the American offence is near the opposing net, the commentators are completely hysterical over it, but when the opposing team is nearing the American net, they're just calm and they don't show any appreciation for the other team or the American defence.

They tell us statistics that make the U.S. team sound extremely glamourous, but they don't bother acknowledging any of the positive points of any other teams.

I totally agree with you!
Today one of them said that he is sick of hearing that Portugal has what it takes to make it.
I am reminded of the 1st round in which every game there was a comment about this being the US team that has the ability to make it far!
They're still talking about the US and they're gone...

the worst comments are those ridiculous statistics they pull out of the bag.

"that was the first penalty scored by a northern hemisphere team under a full moon"

does anyone really care about this stuff??

They always go on and on about nonsense and they keep on talking about USA's national team even though they got kicked out a long time ago.
