Hi,I am Bulgarian myself but I have not been there.I had childhood friends though who had grandparents there and were going almost every summer.I remember always waiting for them to return and tell me what a good time they had.As far as I remember I learned that is a very small town, more village like.Very calm and sunny place.I guess like most small towns and villages in Bulgaria now days, mostly old people live there.
I am sorry if I wasn't helpfull enough!

Yambol is a typical :) medium size Bulgarian town, close to Sliven in the Eastern part of Bulgaria. It's located on the Tundza river in a nice valley with a mild climate:

The life is provincial, but certainly not of the village type. They have local press and cultural life.

To Varna you can go if you go to Burgas first and then start to the North. The road climbs in the hills to the North of Slanchev Bryag and leads you straight to Varna - you can't miss it. Yambol - Burgas - approximately 2 hours; Burgas-Varna - another two hours. Good luck and have fun!
