I'm sorry to hear that you are going through so much grief. Since Islamic terrorism has increased since the 1990's and especially since September 11 2001, there is a growing uneasiness about muslims in general. People who are not of Islam do not understand the different sects of the religion and feel that all Muslims are the same. It is very unfortunate that you have to be "punished" along with the terrorists, but in this world now it is impossible to tell who is your friend and who is your enemy.

In the United States, we rounded up all Asian-looking people after our Pearl Harbor was bombed (World War II) and we put them in camps. We didn't know who was the good guy and who was the bad guy. So, we decided that everyone was the bad guy.

There were Japanese-American professors and doctors who were simply shocked at being put into camps and held prisoner.

Now, middle-eastern people are our new problem. We don't know who's the good guy and who's the bad guy. And there are peaceful Islamists and Muslims and the like who are innocent, and who are simply shocked at being thrown together with some radical gang bangers as if the whole race was responsible for the actions of a few.

Until the "war on terror" is over, I think you'll see that the world cannot seperate you from those intent on committing criminal terrorist acts. That's sad, but it's true.

I will tell you and the rest of the world with absolute honestly and great pleasure - I do not and will not hate or dislike an individual for his religious belief or his heritage. It is not the religion that corrupts - it is not the country they were born in that corrupts - it is the fanatics that twist religous wording into hatred, it is those who actually commit the crime or encourage others to commit the crimes.... they are the ones who need and deserve to be punished and held responsible. It is those who are not willing to allow others their freedom of choice in all matters - those are the people who are wrong. There is not a single person who has the right to make a decision for EVERYONE else.
In the US we seem to have exactly that - one person - the president - who is u litmately responsible for everyone in this country - but that is not true - he is elected, chosen by us. He can only accomplish what we allow him to accomplish through our elected representatives. And if he goes beyond what we the public wish to allow we also have ways and means to relieve him of his repsponsibilities as our president.

It just is not right to hold others responsible for acts they did not encourage or commit.

I'm sorry for your loss. I work around a lot of people from different countries and religions. We all get along fairly well. You can walk in the break room and see Kurdish ladies sitting with women from Mexico talking about their children. You will see a man from Ghana debating with a man from Iran about the World Cup. Some people can not get around their differences, while others choose to look at the similarities. I hope you find some one who will see the similarities.

Neither you nor anyone else should be judged or pay for any so - called " crime" you didn't commit, based on your nationality, religion, sex , color etc. The " civilized world"---( which is made up of individuals ), seems to forget to " treat others as they would like to be treated themselves." Because you are an " individual", you are paying for a" crime" a group of " individuals" you may be a part of or identified with have committed. It's called " guilt" by association..

To our hearts dismay the world is not civilized. We say we live in civilized time but do we really. You can go back to the times of Homer and he wrote of living in civilized times. That is one of those things said to calm a child so they may go to sleep. We will only truly be civilized when we can stop bashing the heads of our brothers and sisters with a stick.

The only reason why people do things like this is to protect us from getting hurt.
