not the same set but different 5 number combos out of 55 numbers. please help

there are some very math savy people out there and appreciate the responses from sherman and the other guy who gave me the formula,but i need the formula to be broken down say in elementary form so i can figure it out so please break it down step by step...i have not taken algebra in over 15 years i dont remember too much of equation terminolgy... thanks ....

For combination, the formula is

No. of combination = n C r

where n is the no. of choices
r is the no. of value used for the combination


U also can use this, its the same

No. of combination = (n!)/[(n-r)!(r)!]

where n and r is the same as above and ! is the n value multiply by (n-1),(n-2),(n-3),...,3,2,1


So ur answer is

No. of combination = (55 X 54 X 53 X 52 X 51)/(5X4X3X2X1)

It depends on if the numbers can be repeated. If not then its really simple you can only have one of the numbers in each slot. so you would get 55*54*53*52*51 if it can repeat then 55*55*55*55*55. and there is your answer as long as your not calculating probabilities.

Use the binomial theorem. THe answer is 55 choose 5, as long as the numbers are all different.
