I have a 2 story house, the main floor was build in brick-veneer. The breething holes are about 18 to 24" above the ground. In a corner on the south side where hydro and cable boxes gives them support, Garter Snakes have entered through the breething holes. Around 9 am as the sun shines an this part of the brick wall, I can see garter snakes sticking their head out from between the bricks. Some will come out, but I'm not sure if its all of them. I'm ready to block the space between the brick with coppermesh, but I need to be sure first that all snakes have been out. Does anybody know a way on how to attract them to come out, or whom I may ask for help? (I'm from the greater Toronto area in Canada)

Ok That totally freaks me out. I am scared to death of snakes. I lived in an old farm house and we had snakes getting in all the time. What I learne dis that Garters are very curious snakes. So if they hear/feel something interesting the go to it. I really don't know what to do get them out. Good luck.

If you hang a tarp so that the sun doesn't shine on the wall the snakes will go to the sun. Make a slick plastic cone comming out from the hole in the wall so that they can't get back in. Make a pile of bricks or rocks in the sun so they have someplace to hide away from the house until you get the hole blocked.

Rig up a flap over the openings so things can crawl out easily, but not get back in. After a couple days, pack the openings closed.

If that does not work, do it around 10 in the morning- after things warm up but before it gets hot and they start to seek cool hiding places.

Just leave them alone, they won't bother you.
