The retirement plan for politicians is absurd. It's no wonder S.S. is so crippled, the politicians have no motivation to fix it, they thought it was good idea to have their own, with built-in automatic raises for inflation, not to mention their spouses are compensated as well. If this doesn't make you mad as hell, then I guess you drank the Kool-Aid too!!

Damn good question and point, I wish we could do something about this and all the dirty politics and politicians. Our whole government needs an *** kickin and a house cleaning. They are all a bunch of greedy back stabbing bastards, that don't give a crap about the American people and weather or not they are struggling to make it in life.

You forget that the Democrats created social security to keep the poor happy while they also created the benefit package for the congress and federal employees which naturally excluded the military. As they put the smokescreen up about a raise in minimum wage they give themselves a nice fat raise. GO LIBERALS.

All politicians are crooks.........that's why they get those huge sums for income and don't have to be under social security. But the rest of us are just too lazy to rise up against them and throw them out of office...

They should all work for $50,000 a year and have to find their own health care and pay out of that $50,000 into social security. They shouldn't have any special benefits for sitting on the hill and ignoring those of us who put them there.
