Yeah you should throw him a party that what my husbands friend did for him when we got engaged but a lil gift for the 2 of them would also be nice!! good luck

Sure you can. After all, that's your friend and you as a friend too should congratulate the fortunate one. It's up to you what you want to give because all that matters is your honesty that's important. If you do it willingly, it's a good thing. What are friends for right?
