It's really not possible to know the answer to your question until you tell us what you're trying to download and what happens when you try.

What makes you think something needs to be changed?

If you're getting an error message of some kind, posting exactly what the message says (or even part of it -- but with exact wording) might be of great help. Or just describe the problem.

Also, are you at your home or work computer? If you're at work, your downloads may be restricted by network or firewall settings, among other things.

I think that it wud b best if u start using DAP-(download accelator plus) for any kind of downloads rather than using internet explorers.

it is very much advanced an has got features like resumes , scheduled downloads and it really works fast

If your browser of choice is internet explorer:

open the i.e. browser>from the menu: tools>internet options>click on the security tab>custom level>scroll down to 'Downloads'>under 'File Download', click on the 'Enable' radio button>click 'ok'
