Addiction is a progressive disease. When one consistantly puts toxic substances into their body, yes it leads to death. A person who has an addictive personality will always want more. The substance that person is using becomes less effective the more you do it; so the person uses more to obtain that desirable affect (high). When they use more the toxic effects are increased. It's a vicious cycle. Only death or asking for help to eliminate the substance all together is the answer.
