You heard this wrong . Why just Gangtok ? Sikkim itself is unfairly called "Switzerland in India". Gangtok, Rabongla, Yuksom, the Lachen valley, Lachung valley, the Chopta valley, Muguthang , and highland valleys of Yumthang and Yumesamdong are MORE BEAUTIFUL than any other place ....including Switzerland ; in fact these places in Sikkim are incomparable ! And if you ever go that side, do visit Gurudongmar Lake and DonkyaLa, where the road ends....
Sikkim is Heaven on earth. Pure, virgin, pristine, crisp and sparkling!

There are dozens of "Switzerlands" around the world - usually mountainous areas with healthy vegetation.
