Yes, do a web search for legal aid for your state...I went through Legal Aid of Wisconsin, which is based in Madison...my entire divorce cost $15.00.

If you do not meet the financial requirements for legal aid, then check with your local bar association. There are many attorneys who take cases on a reduced fee schedule, especially if you are in agreement with your spouse on most issues and it won't be a long drawn out affair. Good luck.

The major factor in this is if you both agree on everything. If you do you can file papers yourself with your county office you were married in. If you don't agree.. there is no getting around a lawyer. See if you both can 'share' a lawyer if you have small issues and that person can sort out the legalities of it all and file papers for you.

WELL IT'S HARD BUT THERE IS A WAY CHECK OUT A LAW LIBRARY THEY SHOULD HAVE THIS THING WHERE IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE HE IS YOU CAN TAKE OUT AN ADD IN THE PAPER FOR A FEW WKS. IF HE DOESN'T RESPOND THEY GIVE YOU YOUR DIVORCE. IT'S WHAT I AM HAVING TO DO.AND DON'T LISTEN TO THOSE WHO KEEP ASKING WHY YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY GOTTEN A DIVORCE IT'S HARD WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE MONEY,I KNOW SO GOOD LUCK
