Yamaha & Ducati have been suggested. Which model/models would you suggest? We're talking street bikes.

This is a kid who can and has ridden just about everything with speed, cars, bikes, etc., and I'm planning to buy him one because for the first time, I can :-)

I'll get his input later, but I want to have some brochures available for him to choose from.

(Who knows, maybe next year I can work on the Ferrari or Bugatti for him.)

Get something water cooled...Last longer and is quiet. Get enough power to more than keep up with traffic for safety reasons. (Underpowered are really dangerous). Get something with 200cc or more but too big are heavy and fuel consuming. Stick with Yamaha Kawasaki or Honda. For fewer problems stick with 4 stroke engines. Good luck! I would prefer a light weight 200 to 300cc dirt / street bike because they are tough and agile.

I would first ask why are you buying him a bike, and he is not buying it for himself. A bike is a very personal decicion. If it is his first bike I would say go with the cheapest, smallest bike that runs well. He will dump it and it will get damaged. If it is not his first bike, then I would recomend either one of the Buell XB12 series bikes, or a Honda Interceptor ABS. These are fine bikes and he should like one or the other very well, but ask as these are two very different types of sport bikes.

has he ever road one, that is the question you should be asking yourself. If he has, then stick with Yamaha. Heck i wish you would by me one too?
