I would if the service was good. Unfortunately, most of the restaurants I've gone to which don't have service charge tends to have horrible service. In fact, even many of those that do have service charge still provide horrible service.

Depends on the restaurant and the cultural background of the person. In Singapore, I don't tip at fast food places or food stalls. In a sit-down restaurant with a server, then I will tip15% if the service is good, but this comes out of my American values. In many Asian countries, tipping is not part of the cultural mores, so I would not necessarily expect an Asian to choose to leave a tip.

I can't think of any sit-down restaurants that do not charge a service charge. I must not go to enough restaurants in S'pore.

If the service is good, I tip 15%. If I only see the waitress twice, the tip goes down and I speak with the one in charge. A restaurants' reputation can get ruined by the wait staff that it employs. If it's a bad experience, who's going to come back? When you go out for dinner, you want to be taken care of. You want to be waited on properly. I will pay for that experience, if I get it. <*)))><

Depends on how the service is like. Most service in Singapore is not that impressive anyway so maybe I won't bother.

ye. And maybe i would still tip the staff even if they made me pay the service charge. It really depends on:

1.) their service
2.) My mood on that day
3.) Im feeling rich
4.) Im being rich

As much as you think they deserve. If they did a superb job, give they 15%, if they did good then 10%, and so on. Compare them to the service you get normally.

Absolutely, and I'd probably tip 15%, unless the service sucks.
