Yes you can. If you are doing a lot of this, you may want to set up a company and get a tax number to save on taxes. You may also want to negotiate with the store you are buying from (or their supplier) to see if you can get a better price on the goods..wholesale pricing.
Lots of people do this on Ebay..they buy on special or with a rebate and then resell the item trying to make more return on the investment.

I don't know what product you are in mind
We buy semi finished goods and do value
addition, also get the things produced by
artisans, and try to purchase from the source
All these methods gives you very good cushioning
in competing with others plus you can produce
custom made products if the bulk customer
demands with their logo/slogans etc.,

Sure. You bought it you own it. Lots of venders buy stuff from the big warehouse stores and then resell individual pieces at fairs etc.

If you are reselling on a regular basis you must acquire a resale license and register with the franchise tax board.

Yes. if it is for a business and you do it often you will need to address sales tax in the US. Best bet is to do some research and find the item wholesale. But if it's a one off - just go for it.

You may want to check the local ordinance on things like that, unless you do plan on selling it on e-bay or you plan on selling it a garage sale. Don't want to get busted for tax evasion or something.

Yes. But how much of a margin will you make? If customers can buy it for the same price you bought it for, how will you make any money?
