there's a marvel Suzie i do no longer understand you've been scottish. I word that you probably did not tell the entire tale about the Haggis in that there are numerous sorts counting on which area of Scotland they arrive from. The Speyside haggis for instance a lot of people imagine has 5 legs yet which could no longer so what seems the fifth leg is in truth an adapted tail that has advanced to grant it more desirable stability necessary because of its habit of sneaking into distilleries and stealing sips of whisky with that is lengthy skinny beak. for sure the distillers say they warfare and provides you up them yet in truth there's a lengthy held perception that that's amazingly fortunate to have a haggis on your distillery and evidently if unpredicted travellers arrive to dinner you've a available meal

The first time I tried haggis and even the second time, I had to shut my brain down on what was going into my mouth, but at a brilliant hotel in Dornoch, I tried it and it was gorgeous!
I used to go to Scotland once a month and had to bring back a load of haggisses (or is that haggii?) and shortbread from a large well known shop in Edinburgh (near the station) for many people. I was lucky not to have been caught by the border guards!

Yes that's right. But they don't eat many as the haggis is a small and very shy creature which only comes out on the night of a full moon. They are also very difficult to catch......I once had one as a pet.

I have met quite a few who genuinely like it. And I, a mere sassenach, adore it! Especially in a new-found guise of Chicken Breast stuffed with Haggis.
Let me know if you'd like the recipe!
PS ... Like many things, you need to find the real McCoy! There are many things which masquerade as Haggis which are no more than a bit of liver and oatmeal stuffed into a Highland Condom.

I'm Scottish and I quite like it, it tastes nice and has a nice consistency, just try not to think about what it is. And while it is traditional to eat it on Burn's night, I'm sure a lot of Scottish people regard it with the same contempt that outsiders do.

I like a quality haggis if it is well cooked but I like other food more. It is a traditional dish but I don't feel any overwhelming need to eat it.
Besides ... they are getting more and more difficult to catch.

i'm Scottish and I hate the stuff. Only tasted a tiny little bit of it before but I did not like it. Think its just because I think too much about what it is !
