rooney got some time with trinidad (low class team)....messi had a chance with serbia-mont (higher class team)...but rooney didnt really do much...except run around...messi had a pass for a goal...and a goal...plus played really well...so whos better?

Rooney was good indeed at his start as a star
and now he is not at his peak Yet Messi is far better than Rooey's peak even at Messi's start.
Messi can become another Maradona, or better version of Batistuta

Messi is a lot better, he plays really well. Rooney didn't do anything, don't know why everyone thinks that Rooney is great.

Messi, No doubt about it.
If he is said to be "the successor of Maradona" then definately one of the best in the business. (hopefully in the near future)
