I would suggest buying a book on this, there is a book called Selling on Ebay for Dummies ( I don't mean you a Dummy) but it covers all of the basics for Ebay and will also tewach you how to list items with good descriptions and what options to use on certian itmes and so on. I really think the book would be the best

Good Luck, I have a friend who does this and make s a really nice 2nd income!!

2 things - do some searches for wholesalers on the web, but be careful, cause you don't want the same stuff as everyone else. Try to find something unique to sell. Also, look for items that you actually know about. I'm not sure where you are, but garage sales and yard sales are a great way to pick up stuff for cheap.

Never sell for less than what you paid, unless you want to get rid of an item, or you use it as a loss leader. (sell it for cheap, and get people to look at your other auctions). Remember an auction is a contractual obligation. If you didn't set a reserve and it sells for .99 cents, then that's what you HAVE to sell it for.

If you are selling NEW stuff DO NOT sell it at auction. It is easy to open an eBay store and it costs WAY less to list items. However, store items are not searchable for buyers, so you HAVE to list at least a few items in 7 to 10 day auctions or rather listings. Sell at a fixed price or offer the "Best Offer" option. That way your info is "out there" and you have a store link on every item you sell so people can find your store. Make your listed item one that is a HOT item. That will draw people to your store. FYI< start small!!! You WILL NOT do it over night. OH, sell things you know and understand and understand that it takes time and hard work. Life isn't free.

You have to set a reserve price that will cover expenses. Or start the bidding at the $300 price you need to get.
Look for other people selling the same item and see what the average selling price is. If it's less than $300 then don't invest in that item.

Another important thing to know is how to write and spell. If your description of the item is as poorly written as your question you won't have very good luck.

I took a free online course for "selling on ebay" through Hewlett Packard (the computer people). Right now I don't see one starting soon but check out the link below to at least know where to look. You may be able to email them to see when they plan on having another one. I highly recommend it to answer those kinds of questions.
