Franchises are very expensive. Most require minimum assets of $350,000. McDonalds won't consider you unless you have a million dollars. You can open your own sandwich or pizza shop for as little as $10,000. Whatever you decide, keep in mind the unexpected and unforseen. Be prepared to spend as much as 4 times the amount you think you are going to need!

First it depends on if you are going to buy your location lease or rent it then you need to also figure in the cookware, handleing materials, employees, utilities, insurance....I have done this and for my area to start a Small Diner with renting it would run me around $1300 a month for the property then there is the other costs estimated at an average of $2500 a month (utilities, payroll, supplies, etc)then there are one time start up costs such as appliances, storage, cookware, eatery, depending on what you want can run extremely high.
I have included a couple places for you to estimate your supplies costs. You also can contact businesses to "fund" you. If you are a female you have the Womens Business Associations to help you find companies that wish to help fellow women start their own business. Either way you need to get to the SBA "small business association" and that is alot of help

Then sadly after all this you also have to figure in the "franchise" amount which I have searched on and has ranged in various prices but usually staying around no less then $150,000.00
You can also go to KFC.com and scroll around to their franchise link which will cover three companies.
Rallys.com which will cover at least two.
DairyQueen.com
Subway.com
and so on
Hope this helps and hope it doesnt crush your ideas and dreams :)

Go to a make or credit union and tell them your idea. And if you are approved for a loan handle your business. Good Luck
