First thing you'd better do is going to the "Chicago cultural center" in downtown. They'll provide you with many maps and a lot of excellent tours and event programs, many of which are absolutely free! They also have this project in which a native shows you around for free! Also, go to the Hancock center instead of Sears tower sky deck, because the former is an open deck while the latter is a closed one(surrounded by glass), therefore you can take better pictures from the Hancock sky deck. bring at least a light coat or jacket with you. Right now the weather is warm here, but you never know, especially at nights it might become a little chilly.

Sears Tower, John Hancock, Shedd Aquarium, Navy Pier, and Museum of Science and Industry are ones I can think of right now. You may want to go to Six Flags Great America in Waukegan. There's a pretty cool outlet mall in Aurora. Check the front desk at the hotel for cool places to go. I think there is a Hard Rock Cafe and Rainforest Cafe up there but I don't know where they are. Michigan Avenue has some stuff for people I think, but I'm not too sure on that. Again, check with the front desk at the hotel to see where cool places are.

Check on Navy Pier, good bars in Wrigleyville, go up in the Sears Tower at dusk to see the sunset, Millenium Park and the giant bean are pretty cool. There is usually always a concert or something going on in the evenings at Millenium Park and/or Grant Park and both are within walking distance of the Loop, so easy to get to. Not sure when you are coming, but Taste of Chicago starts June 30th and it is a great event. Just don't eat for like a day before you go because you will want to try so many things (this is in Grant Park). Have fun, it is a great city!

The Old Town area (Wells street), lots of great bars, Second City and Zanies comedy clubs, great restaurants... stop in the Old Town ale house, once voted "Best Dive Bar" in Chicago.
Head over to Wicker Park. It's gone corporate now, but still plenty of restaurants, bars, clubs. Used to be the hipster hangout, but now it's all young ad execs and account managers.
both of these areas are pretty easy to access from Ohio street, maybe a decent cab ride away.

The Aquarium is really cool. So is the museum of Science and Industry.
If you're in the mood for pizza, Pizzeria Uno and Pizzeria Due are both good.
If you want to avoid the crowds for the Sears Tower, but still want to go way up high, try the John Hancock Tower.
Have fun.

Well, the weather is heating-up here in chicago 80's and 90's. But bring an umbrella, rainy afternoons and nights possibly. Shopping on Michigan avenue is prime now, lot of sales.....
Our beer gardens are cool
Rush Street...in the heart of downtown is usually great for the party seen.
Navy Pier is a wonderful place also.
Have dinner on the pier itself, or have it on a boat
