House is vacant and not kept up. Was being rented and now has no tenents. House does not have a lawn but rather all weeds. Subdivision is upscale ($400K+) and does not have covenants that address this issue. Is there any law that I can reference to see what my options are. House in question is in Warren County, Ohio

Contact your County Commissioner if in the County or City Hall in town. Cities have ordinances. Counties use a "health and Safety Code". Not sure what the departments are titled in your state but it's probably the same.

We had a house like that in our neighborhood and we all complained to the city, a couple of months later my eyes were not sore anymore! I do have a suggestion though, if you can't get any where with the county/city you live in see if you can buy the property for a dollar have it tore down and put in a flower garden! You said that you lived in an upscale neighborhood the whole community can pull their money together have fund raisers and get the kids involved, and then put in a garden!

hi I live in ohio also. call the city on them. It is gross and high grass cause bugs. go to a search engine and type in warren co ohio. It will probaly help a lot it has a lot of info.

call the town. I have the same problem by me in NY(long island). My neighbor does not cut his grass for 3+ weeks at a time. Looks like a jungle. All the house by me are 530K+

Move to Kansas, or torch the place. Sorry if the advice seems radical, but you may not have to many options..

Find out who owns it & try to buy it from them. Then the grass will be your responsibility.
