I can't answer that, but I know you seem to be right. I try to keep my opinions to myself in public, because I know I cannot be pursuaded to another belief, so why argue? "They," however, seem to like to get into disagreements and arguments, and I don't give in. On here, however, I love commenting on some of the silly answers given! Too bad it isn't like IM so we can discuss some of these things further...

Oh, I don't believe that. (For the most part.) As a Liberal Republican myself, I get into debates with my left-wing liberal friends and although we always end up at an impasse, (neither bending to the others logic) we do end up getting our point across to each other.
I know some liberals that take it too far (comparing Bush to Hitler) which is when I cease my debate with them as that is when I can see that no matter what I say, they will tune me out while they think of their next conspiracy theory.....not actually listening to what I'm saying, but thinking in their mind what to spew out next while I try to reason with their "doom & gloom" idiologies.

That's a huge generalization based on a few people. I mean, all Republicans aren't name callers, only a few of them are. You are, obviously, for calling all Democrats 'seething with hatred', and a few others are (like Ann Coulter). But that doesn't keep me from calling all Republicans evil.
In the defense of all name callers, I would like to say that their behavior is often in retaliation for other name calling, started by both sides. In the last election, Republicans called John Kerry a liar with the swift boat ads, and Democrats called George W Bush unpatriotic because of his lack of service in the military. Political beliefs don't determine behavior.

I'd say we have a lot of gloom and doom today if you just look at the shape the U.S. is in right now compared to when Clinton was President. You should not be so quick to say things like that.

You do realize that not all liberals are on Yahoo Answers, right? No offense, but maybe you should get out of the house a little more. It seems like both sides can do nothing but sling insults on this site. Your question is clearly supporting this agenda, so I ask myself why did I bother to answer?
P.S. I can't tell you how many times I've been called names or insulted by Cons. One even threatened to slit my throat. Not a very loving thing to do, is it?

You're silly and you're generalizing. Rush Limbaugh feels the same way you do, you know? He, too, claims that it is the liberals who will degrade an argument by resorting to name calling. The funny thing about this argument is, it is hypocritical. If you go to Rush's website, you can buy your very own bumper sticker that says, "Still Voting Democrat? You're Stuck on Stupid." So, once again, this is a circular argument full of contradictions.

For years conservatives have done nothing but name calling because they have no points. Democrats have finally learned that if you smear someone, it will stick, so they are giving you a bit of your own medicine. Please don't deny that conservative call names. Ann Coulter: "All liberlas are traitors." Most all Republicans: "Liberals that want out of Iraq are cowards." The Swift Boat Veterans: "John Kerry lied to get his medals." The list goes on and on. All of these things are lies, and are pretty stupid, but they got Republicans elected.
If the last six years have shown us nothing, it has shown us that conservative ideas don't work, not domestically, and not internationally. Economy stinks, environment going to hell, needless war, international image destroyed, larger gap between rich and poor, violent crime up, joblessness up etc, etc.
And I didn't even call you one name.

Hilarious. You have this so backwards. I've had Neocons go as far as to attack how my avatar looks because they don't have a valid argument to debate me. LOL
If you are somehow concluding that Liberals are full of hate then I would recommend taking the time to understand your opposition's point of view.
From where us liberals stand, all we see is the Republican party dictating to us what is morally right or wrong and forcing us to live by and pay for their beliefs... ie, faith-based initiatives, the Iraqi War, congressional wages on time spent to 'try' to pass anti-gay laws, etc....
The Neocon agenda is getting rammed down our throats so we are speaking out in as loud of a protest across the nation as we can in as many forms as we can. IE, the internet, media, etc...
Also, we see the Republican agenda as the one full of hate. It seems that every goal they have is full of something 'ANTI'. IE, anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage, anti-immigration, etc....
I'm not attacking you for having your opinion. I am asking that you just think about this more in depth and try to understand the other side.

Think back a few years when Clinton got a ********. I would have said the same thing. I'm pissed off because I beleive a terrible idiot is in the white house now. And I suspect that you probably a similar attitude when you thought we had a sexually interesting man in the white house. It is more to do with satisfaction than with us being hating people.

I'm not seething with hatred. I am disgusted by the hubris majority in Washington, D.C. They are slowly selling off our country to the highest bidder, neglecting the people they are suppose to work for and asking for a raise? What exactly have they done to deserve one? Give the people who are fighting their "war on terror" a raise for Pete's sake and keep their money grubbing hands to themselves!

I'm sure you don't consider that a fact, but if so you are horribly miss led. please take a step outside your Conservative ways and see reality. there are many liberals who can debate, very well I might add. most of us do not resort to "name calling" but I can understand the frustration with ignorance, it's everywhere
