Does bullying occur more at private/independent schools than it does at state schools or is it about the same?

Is bullying solved more quickly and effectively in private schools than state schools?

Thanks.

Children are children so bullying will occur everywhere. I have a feeling it might seem less due to being better dealt with in private schools as they tend to have smaller classes and more staff to keep an eye out for the problems. Also, I could see that bullying could be worse in boarding schools, most of which are private, as the children are living together 24/7 during the term time - which gives more opportunity for bullying and creates a more intense environment with few breaks from your peirs. I went to an all girls boarding school myself and it can get pretty awful. None of this is based on exact research, just my opinion, but I hope you find it useful/of interest.

Firstly, Bullying almost certain does occur more in state schools than private schools since private schools cost money etc etc.

Secondly, any bullying in a private school would be dealt with sternly and effectively but normally about the same speed/time as a state school.

I went to a private school, and I have to say there was v.little bullying. I dont know if this is because of the fees etc, but I think personally bullys are everywhere, the race, class, creed, sex, whatever doesnt matter.
