The trick with Ebay is that you have a limit to how much you want to spend on an item and stick to it. This is because often people will bid at the last minute and run it up unexpectedly. If it goes beyond what you want to spend, learn to let it go. Also, you need to be clear how much shipping is, because sometimes shipping may be where the people make their profit. The cost of shipping needs to be calculated in the total cost.
Another trick is to bid only once and then wait until closer to when the bid closes to go into a bid war.
Many people do very well for themselves selling on Ebay, but keep the following things in mind:
1. Are you set up to take digital photos of the things you want to sell?
2. Do you have the time to write up a description of the products you want to sell? Are you prepared to be completely honest as to the condition of what you want to sell?
3. Do you know the actual value of what you want to sell and how much it will take you to ship it out to them?
4. Do you have the time to pack up and ship the item to the winning bidder?

Often I have considered selling things on Ebay, but do not have the time or inclination to handle shipping the stuff. There are companies that for a fee will do the listing and shipping for you, and that might be a way to go.

Ebay is a good place to buy, but beware of the seller. Make sure you check feedback on seller. Had a few bad experiences, but ebay fixed them. Sometimes the seller doesn't want to send you items bought. The shipping is outrageous. As far as selling I know nothing about that.

Depends...just remember BUYER BEWARE! Do some checking BEFORE you buy something. I think the selling part is fine, as long as you are honest with what you are selling.
