that is true, religious people lay low while the government is not backing them up, as soon as we get a die hard religious president though all the campaigning comes out, the whining, annoying comments on the street. religious people need to find a hobby that's not going to interupt everyone Else's life. They haven't shown much compassion to people who are not of their faith in the past and will never do so, Ignorance is bliss and they choose to stay that way.

Oh come on, it isn't all that bad. I'm the only atheist on my block and they haven't strung me up and burned me yet! They DO throw rotten fruits at me, but that's how I get my "5 a day" requirements, so it's all good.
I will say that English can't be your first language, so maybe the bulk of your argument is lost in translation. I mean, you have a weird, random comma scratching in the middle of a perfectly un-pausing sentence...yet whole sentences end with nary a period. And the spelling kinda sucks, too. But I feel your frustration and I understand that it's based on (most likely, because, really, how would I KNOW? after all?) real life encounters.....so I hessitate to be too sarcastic here.
Do this...stop watching the news for a few weeks. Don't read a newspaper, either. Just take a break from all that. You aren't the President or a four star General or even the head of a major corp, so the world won't stop while you're on vacation from the news. Maybe you could do some yoga, to calm down a bit.
Societies work in patterns, they have transitions and phases of group thought. This ultra-conservative wave right now is coming to an end and you'll see the ideology swing again, maybe to the direction you'd like better? It WILL happen eventually. Extremes can't be maintained. So calm down, breathe, and relax.

True but don't let that keep you from being the spiritual being that you are.
Better approach is to just allow people the space to believe what they want instead of "tolerating" their ideas. Rather if you just take the standpoint that we are all different and it's OKAY if someone else doesn't believe like you do life becomes more interesting. The problem with tolerating is that you are still having a negative opinion of their behavior... if you take that into allowing then you are saying yes...we have different beliefs...isn't that wonderful?
And you'll find greed in any organization...if you are looking for it.
Hope that helps.

First of all, I think it is important to understand what I think is the difference between "religion" and "spirituality". In my opinion, religion as we understand it today has become more of a man made institution, operating outside of the influence of God. It is more popularly known as "self righteousness". However, those who seek true spirituality reach beyond the boundaries of religion.
It's written that "a tree is known by its fruit", and "Christians are known by their love" (paraphrased). Now, think again about what you said. If someone says they kill in the name of religion, I'd say they weren't very spiritual at all, and I would be very leery of them. They appear to be more selfish than anything, and they are certainly not seeking the will of God as I understand. You should be afraid of these people. (i.e. Spanish Inquisition, Crusades, Jihad)
When you hear someone passing judgment on another person, saying "they are bad because...", or "God hates him or her because...", once again we find a so called religious person using their religion to hurt another. How about the preacher who wants to build an amusement park? Or the religious snob who thinks their god is better than your god? Or the atheist who says you are stupid if you believe in an invisible God? There are a lot of truly ugly people in the world. It's true. But...
On the other hand, there are millions of people who don't kill, who don't pass judgment, who don't strap bombs to their chest and head to the pizza parlor. There are millions of people who do their job, mow the lawn, take their kids to school, and love their neighbor (even a neighbor they may not like). They don't lie, cheat, steal, or kill. They pay their taxes, they understand politics, and some have college degrees. Look closely; they are there. If you meet someone who claims to have faith in God, and then they back it up with quiet, non-judgmental, loving, clean living, you shouldn't be afraid of them. Don't let the media fool you. There are a lot of these people, millions of these people, out there. They are blessed by God, and they are truly serving God...
And sometimes answering Yahoo questions...

Scares me too...blind faith is a terrible thing, when you've manipulated people into killing themselves and other people in the name of whatever deity they want you to believe in.
Funny how these people are supposed to be 'rewarded' for their actions after death. The only reward? They're dead.

when people do kill in the name of religion it is them that is wrong not the religion, they just dont interpret the teachings of that religion correctly, and religious ppl arent scary, they just have a god to pray to.

Religion is manipulation for human reasons, nothing to do with God ... And you are right to be scared of the 'righteous', 'holier than thou' zombies who dictate most govt policies, and of their hordes of indoctrinated, xenophobic, manipulated followers ...
Scary stuff !!!!!!!
I'm really frightened too !!!
Good luck ! ;^)
