For the viewer, it nearly is year-round. You've got NFL, NCAA, Arena Football, Canadian league, and I think the European league is still going too. You can follow spring training and recruiting and the draft in what little off-season there is.
But if you had steak and lobster every single day, wouldn't you eventually get sick of it? Better that it has its time - makes us appreciate it more.

No, there are probably millions who wish this. Football is the most exciting sport to watch in my opinion. And with teams playing once a week, we don't get overloaded with games like in the other sports. Arena league helped fill the void some this season. And of course, as long as their are video games, Madden and NCAA Football help fill the void some too. NFL Europe however, doesn't do it for me. I feel like I'm watching preseason games all the time.
It's funny though, hear recently for some reason, I've been having dreams that just a couple of weeks after the Super Bowl, another season starts, so there would be 2 Super Bowls a year. It would be cool, but could you imagine the injuries and time missed by players because there would be no time to rest and recover.

Football is a year round sport. It just takes many different forms at different times of the year. There is NFL, CFL, NFL Europe, high school and college football in the fall and winter. In the spring and summer you have many different varieties of professional indoor football leagues to choose from. There is the Arena Football League, arenafootball2, the National Indoor Football League, United Indoor Football, the American Indoor Football League, the Great Lakes Indoor Football League and the American Professional Football League. I'm sure you can find something near you all year long.

I wish that college football lasted longer. Not year round, as it's waaay too hot here in the South for it. But, a month or two longer would be nice.
Go Gators!

i play division 1 college football and it is year round, when the season is over we have winter conditioning, when that is over we have spring ball, then we have 2 summer sessions and the we get in the season. i'm not sure what school level of football you are, but when u get to D1 college level, you will have playing college football year round.

If you mean the World Cup... i always wish it was yearly (all the year round would be overdone and pointless)... on the other hand, waiting four years is too much !!! :(
