Cut, add/subtract pipe lengths, couplings to accomplish.

The properties of the cement are designed to dissolve to a degree, the pvc pipe forming a bond that will not leak.

Beyond that,,,NO FITTINGS should ever be "GLUED" Yikes.

I'll suggest a new down drain from the sink, new P trap and secured by the proper fittings, without anything more than a Lock jaw expandable plier and perhaps plumbing, teflon tape, or putty.

When PVC pipes are glued, the glue is a chemically welded bond, like a welded steel pipe.
There is no way to get the fittings apart.
The half-inch is very minimal, but you may get a PVC coupling on it to make it up.
There, fortunately, is no real pressure on a drain pipe.
Use a liberal amount of PVC glue on that short half-inch and jam the coupling up tight with the glued fittings together.

HELLO FRIEND!!!!That would be a saw friend, a hack saw works well. Seriously though, I read an article in Popular Science that a liquid is in the works. A friend of mine did a neat trick, he had a connection, a small one, only down a couple of threads he used acetone, not fingernail polish remover, real acetone. We messed with it a half hour or so, da*m if it didn't work. GOOD LUCK!!!!!
