He was poor. I don't think he was too biased but he made some bad decisions that went against England.

There is nothing they can or will do

Why does it matter???? England won didn't they????
And very rarely are the refs bias. I am a ref myself and I watched that game and I think the ref called a rather even game when compared to other games I've seen during this World Cup.

No FIFA shouldn't have done anything. There was nothing wrong with the ref. And you cannot do anything about the ref in the middle of a game. All thses refs are the best in the world, the best from each country. If these guys out there right now reffing the World Cup can't ref than who can???

Reffing looks like an easy job but its not. I would know, I go out there every week and do it. I only do it at the recreational level (10-15 yr olds.) but those parent are serious when it comes to this. If they don't like what you called theyre yelling at you. At some higher level games they yell the whole game. So just imaging instead of twenty parents yelling at you a whole stadium of 80-90,000 people all yelling and screaming and booing. It can really get into your head.

And all of us have a bad game every now and then. Maybe this was one of his.

Well after the event there was little that could be done except to send the refreee home.
The problem is trying to distinguish a bias ref from a poor one.
Certainly the ref in the England v T&T game was fair whereas the ref in the England v Paraguay match appeared bias.
Similarly there was a bad decision in the Argentina game today (disallowed Crespo goal) but thankfully it did not affect the result.
FIFA needs to be far more careful & selective in its choice of refs. The World Cup is once every 4 years & teams who work hard to qualify deserve the best. There is no room for bias or substandard officilas.

Yes, the ref made a number of bad decisions, some went in England's favour and some went against. That is not an excuse it's a fact.
The fact that England played poorly or that they won the game anyway is beside the point.
The refs should be held accountable to a certain standard and when they are way off like this one was Fifa should do something about it. But they don't.

I don't believe any Refs are openly Biased. There are a lot of teams been dudded by bad refereeing so far... It is spoiling the game for all.

It seems like the traditional STRONG teams are getting to much leeway over the up and coming teams though. Especially when the Coach of a strong team has a press conference before the game stating that Refs MUST protect our good players.

It is annoying to see so many yellow and red cards against ALL teams so far... That Penalty Kick given against Australia was just disgusting refereeing.
I watched the recent Baseball World Cup Classic and saw maybe a few bad calls... so far in the Soccer World Cup I've seen at least 40 really bad calls.

Yes fifa should have done something about the ref in England's first game, maybe disqualify him from future world cup reffing would be sufficient.
Yes the ref was bias although this did not stop them from winning.

Why is it that every time a match doesn't go the way England wants it to they automatically blame the ref/linesmen/weather or anything other than the English team?
It is the luck of the draw which ref. you get but none of them are biased. These are the best in the world & as such are beyong reproach.

Fifa will not always act or respond in the way we feel they should for us British fans. I do feel as if the Ref was a little bias but there is enough Fifa bodies probably present seeing the same as us.
The main thing is that they won & have now qualified, lets hold on to that & be positive.

The refs should come from nations that didnt qualify for the World Cup in order to reduce the bias and one sided calls.

Yes he was a poor ref, they should bring in camera ref's to stop all these bad ref's from making mistakes and spoiling the game for the public.

the ref wasn't bias he was just plain useless.

fifa are being strict on refs in this tournament.

if the referee and/or his linesmen (who travel with referee) are rated as having a poor game by fifa then they are sent home.

if a linesmen fails a fitness test, all three have to go home.

The england game ref watched the game 2day on his sofa, most likely
